James Stickley began his design career in art direction and set design for television and events. A belief in the importance of the longevity of both the design and object led him to a career in furniture design.
James believes that the longevity of an object, is routed in a combination of both its uniqueness, and its familiarity. Spending his time between his Bethnal Green and Berlin studios, he takes influence from the man made forms he sees around him, present in everyday life. He creates simple, functional, yet bold pieces; in a style that has been deemed as 'graphic minimal’.
